Music Videos

      After watching everyones music videos, I can honestly say that I had no idea that there was so many interesting things in every bands video. There was so many little things that were hard to catch but it was really cool to see how the video had related to the band and things happening around them. One of those things was the diegesis. The diegesis is basically the meaning behind the video that is not inferred but is shown. For example, in Demons by imagine Dragons the basic diegesis was that everyone has their own stories and have all been through different things. However the one I had trouble understanding was Monster by Eminem because there was lots of flashbacks from his life but i didn't understand till the end of the video when he went to a monsters cage and inside was Eminem.
     It was so cool seeing all these videos each telling stories or trying to tell the people watching something like the Mis-en-scene. Mis-en-scene is an expression that means that there is a hole story or theme in just a frame of a hole video. A good example of this is in Citizen Soldier by Three Doors Down theres a scene or a shot that shows the destruction of a whole city and people hurt or crying but theres army hummers in the background coming to help. This is a symbol hope, that when we are down and hurt there will always be someone to help pick us up. I learned that there is so much more to film then I knew and i learned that its all the little details that counts.
